With the addition of associate nations in the game, ICC has made their intentions clear about making the game global to every extent. Cricket is now followed in almost every part of the world and the fan following is increasing day by day.

Summer has always been cricketing season for every cricket playing nation. Since 2015 World cup, cricket hasn’t stopped and we are being entertained daily. Currently, almost every nation is playing their season and I am going to share some news from them as well as discuss the insights of ICC.
- What’s happening in ICC: ICC has always been a controversial organization. We have listened to different news from ICC on different occasions, and then sometimes we listen to some other news regarding the same issue. Recently Srilanka Cricket board proposed a two-tier test cricket structure with 7 test playing nations in one tier and 2 test playing along with 3 associate nations in 2nd Bangladesh Cricket board accepted the idea as an opportunity to play more against big teams. Australian, new eland cricket Associations has also supported the idea of two-tier test cricket system. But recently, the all-powerful BCCI have stood against the idea and denied the project of two-tier test cricket system. BCCI has done so by saying that “we care for smaller nations” and they should also get a proper chance. Seemingly, there was nothing wrong with the two tiers; the nations who win big will compete with other good teams and vice versa. This sudden decision by BCCI has left us wondering Does BCCI want to take control of ICC? The big question that rises now is “What will ICC do in this situation?” will they act as one international body or will they stand with powerful BCCI?
- Series/Tours: The most popular series right now is Pakistan vs England. Pakistan with losing all the reputation in 2010 from spot fixing case have come fresh in the same soil after 6 years and the player involved in the incident, Muhammad Amir is also playing fresh against the sound, smart English side. The series has already hosted two spectacular test matches with Pakistan outsmarting England in first and regained the Lord’s legacy. England in the Manchester test made a comeback and defeated Pakistan from Almost 250 runs. In the third match, Sohail Khan has made a comeback for Pakistani side and what seems to be a perfect comeback, has taken five-for in his first international test after 5 years.
Srilanka outsmarted Australia in their 1 test and it seemed like Australia never wanted to play that match with the miserable ending the whole world viewed. Failed to score a single run from over 190 deliveries has raised some fingers of critics against Australia. What were they thinking on the pitch? Is there something going in Australian dressing room? Australia is playing there second test match against the host SriLanka and we all have to wait for the moment we are waiting for.
India whitewashing West Indies in the first test have failed to do so in second. What can be considered a miracle but West Indies have successfully saved the second test match by extraordinary chase in the last day of the match. West Indian cricket board will be happy to see a draw after a miserable first match against the strong, resilient Indian side.
