We know how much a lot of moms have become conscious about their bodies ever since they transitioned from being career women to being stay-at-home moms once they enter marriage. This is usually because they cannot find the right time to sneak in some time to exercise.

That is why, in this article, we will give some low-impact exercises, which focus on alleviating stress and pressure on the joints, that the mommies can try doing without disrupting their usual everyday work around the house. Read on to know more!

Walking

We are starting with the most basic low-impact exercise – walking. This is something we do every day and something that stay-at-home moms probably do the most with everything they have to do around the house. This exercise is also the easiest to spice up.

Mommies can change their pace when doing chores around the house, such as brisk walking from one room to another or setting daily step count goals. Time to take the baby out for a walk? Well, that is the perfect time to exercise and bond with your baby.

Yoga

Yoga is a well-known exercise that will require a peaceful space in order to successfully meditate. Mommies will be able to do this exercise better during downtimes of their babies or toddlers. However, yoga is also an exercise that mommies can share with their babies.

Laying on the ground in a curl-ups position, the baby sits on the mom’s abdominal area and can do partial curl-ups or glute bridges. Mommies can also do modified push-up kisses, with their baby lying on the mat and the mom in the modified push-up position but with toes tucked and slowly lowering down to kiss their baby on the forehead or nose.

Rowing

If a rowing machine is present at home that may or may not be utilized by the dads, then this is definitely the perfect time for the mommies to use it to keep fit and bond with the baby. If not, we know how mommies can easily create DIYs.

The mommy may position herself on the rowing machine that would enable the baby to sit on her lap while she rows. If possible, the mommy may strap the baby in their carrier to ensure the baby’s security and position.

Dancing

Dancing is another form of exercise that will not fail in doing its job to help someone stay fit. This exercise can be low impact based on the intensity of the body movements. Dancing is also another way for the mommies to bond with their babies since music is a great way to develop the baby’s brain.

With some music playing in the home speakers, mommies may carry their babies or have them strapped in carriers and lightly move to the beat without moving the baby too much, such as swaying while engaging their cores.

Ellipticals

Ellipticals can help the moms achieve a full-body workout given that they are stationary machines that require the movements of the arms and the legs, as if they are really running, to keep it moving.
Just like the other exercises mentioned, the babies can be strapped in with their moms while in their carriers. This way, the mommy is able to ensure to keep the body contact that the baby requires during its early growth.
